The Magic World of Czech Illustrations for Children

Ohridska banka - Societe Generale Group, The Czech Embassy in Republic of Macedonia and The Museum of City of Skopje from 18th May to 3rd of June are organizing the exhibition The Magic World of Czech Illustrations for Children. The official opening of the exhibition will be on Tuesday 18th May at 20.00h in the Museum of City of Skopje. This cultural event represents rare opportunity for the art admirers to enjoy the artistic heritage of Czech paintings dedicated to the youngest and to all those who remain forever young due to their imagination.

“I have always supported the opinion that the children's hands are modeling the most sincere artistic forms... "A Fair of Colors" – that is how I would entitle the children's artistic world; it is at the same time profuse, magical and attractive” – explained the eminent Macedonian painter, Sergej Andreevski in his foreword for the exhibition.

“It is my great honor and a real pleasure to present this travelling representative collection of Czech illustrations of the finest Czech artists in this two weeks stop in Skopje. This cultural event is in connection to the week of the Czech animated movie that takes place from the last week and the coming week of Czech animated movies for children. Together all these events represent important presentation of the modern Czech arts in Macedonia” – said HE. Josef Braun, Czech Ambassador in Republic of Macedonia on today’s press conference.

The exhibition will be accompanied by contents organized for the students from 5th to 8th grade in the Macedonian elementary schools on the topic The Magic World of the Macedonian Stories. This exhibition represents only one segment in the cooperation between the Czech Embassy and Ohridska banka this year, which will be accompanied by the concert of Vaclav Hudecek scheduled on the program of this year’s 50th edition of the Ohrid Summer Festival.
